Julia S.

Julia won 3rd place for her winning essay, “What I Love about Living in Madison.”  So excited for Julia.  She will be honored at the Madison City Council meeting.

5th grade Field Trip to BJHS for the Great American Super Citizen Program

There was a special guest, Lee Greenwood.   He sang two songs.  It was awesome.  All students are going to be receiving a copy of Mr. Greenwood’s new book, “God Bless the USA” provided by Commissioner Dale Strong!  Thank you Mr. Strong.  It was an wonderful experience.

Steven H. and Aleksei F. shared about our 5th and 6th grade Exploratory classes at the Board Meeting on Thursday night.  They did a wonderful job.

Look What’s Happening at West Madison

Congratulations to our West Madison Math Team.  They won 2nd place yesterday at the ASFA Tournament in Birmingham.  We are so proud of these students.  🙂

 

Congratulations to several of our Chess Team members.

 

Swetha Jakka – the Top Female winner in the Winter Scholastic Chess Tournament last weekend.

Aubteen Pour Biazar won 4th place in the Winter Knights Chess Tournament.

Super Job.  Very Proud, indeed of these students!

We began our 2nd 9 week session for our 5/6 grade Exploratory.  I visited classrooms.  Students were super excited.

Look What’s Happening at West Madison

Welcome Back to School!

I pray you had a great holiday.  It was so wonderful seeing all the kids getting off the bus and from car line.  It appeared that most kids were ready to come back.  They were all a buzzing in the lunchroom catching up.

We would especially like to welcome all the new students we have gotten over the past few days to our West Madison family.   We look forward to getting to know you.

Congratulations to Ms. Newsome, our music teacher!

She has won a grant to purchase more music equipment.  A former parent also entered our school in a drawing to receive 25 Ukuleles.  Our school won! This is very exciting.  I know Ms. Newsome can’t wait to receive the ukuleles and for the students to begin using them in class.
